Spot it. Solve it. Greenify it.

The news reports the problem.
We grow the solution — together.

GREENIFI isn't a complaint box. Every concern opens straight into solutions, offers of help, and one public record the whole community can stand on. Propose a better practice, bring what you can, and move a spot from Red to Yellow to Green.

Why nothing changes

The world has enough problem-reporting.

Doomscrolling the news names harm all day and changes nothing. And when a problem feels enormous, it seems all-or-nothing — so people freeze, and the harmful default wins by inaction.

400 mi

Too big to start

A county may manage hundreds of miles of creek; Hawaiʻi's roadsides stretch for thousands. "Fix it all" is impossible, so the work never begins.

No alternative offered

Overgrowth gets cut, becomes weeds, gets sprayed. The cheapest reflex — chemicals — wins simply because no better practice and no helping hands were on the table.

40+

Scattered, never counted

Forty people post forty angry comments in forty places. None of it consolidates into evidence anyone can cite — so the concern evaporates.

GREENIFI flips it: report the problem forever
organize the abundance of solutions.

The model

Red → Yellow → Green

A spot doesn't turn Green because people are upset or sign a petition. It earns each colour through real, documented better practice. The first win is rarely total victory — often it's just interrupting the death-pattern.

Red

A harm is named

A harmful practice is documented — and instantly opens into Seeds and offers of help. We never stop at the problem.

  • · Spraying, drilling, discharge, a blocked stream
  • · Evidence builds until it's undeniable
  • · Every Red asks: what could replace it?
Yellow

A better practice begins

The harm is being reduced, altered, bypassed, or replaced through a trial or transition — the death-pattern is interrupted while the remedy proves itself.

  • · A no-spray Trial Zone, tended by hand
  • · A fish ladder, side channel, or wildlife crossing
  • · One facility agrees to a buffer or phase-down
Green

Durable & repeatable

The better practice holds over time — documented with follow-up proof, so others can copy the recipe.

  • · Soil, shade, food, and habitat return
  • · Return visits confirm it lasts
  • · A model for the next spot, anywhere
Solutions, not complaints

Every concern opens into a Seed

The moment a harm is named, GREENIFI pushes toward the abundance of better practices — a Seed. And you never need to have the answer yourself: "Ask local experts to find a safer way" is a perfectly valid Seed.

  • The app always asks for the next step

What better practice could replace it? What help is needed? Who should hear about it?

  • Neighbors vote the best Seeds up

The community surfaces what's worth trying first — so energy flows to solutions, not doom.

The community already has what it needs

Instead of solving 400 miles at once, pick one test spot and let a workday assemble itself. People offer what they can bring — and the spot moves to Yellow the moment the better practice begins.

Offer what you can bring

🕒 Volunteer hours 🥄 Shovels & tools 🧤 Gloves 🪵 Mulch 🌱 Native seeds 💧 Water 🍞 Food for volunteers 🚚 Transportation 📷 Documentation 🧠 Local expertise 📣 Outreach to officials 📰 Media support
1

Pick one spot documented as Red and propose a Trial Zone.

2

Hands, not chemicals — cut monthly, mulch, plant useful life.

3

Document before & after, then return for follow-up care.

4

If it holds, it earns Green — a model others can repeat.

Two kinds of action — sometimes both

One model, every kind of harm

Anything harming Land, Air, Water, or ecosystem continuity can become a case. Some are solved by hands-on action, some need civil action — and the path to Green just differs by the harm.

A person planting a tree Hands-on action

Hands-on stewardship

Where people can physically tend the land themselves — the perfect Trial Zone.

Cases
Weed spraying Chemical land care Bare soil & erosion Trash Invasive weeds
Path to Green
Tools & labor Mulch & planting Recurring care
Industrial tanks and pipes Civil action

Industrial & agency harm

You can't volunteer-fix an oil well — but you can build the record and force it into public view.

Cases
Drilling near homes Refineries Industrial discharge Toxic storage Air pollution
Path to Green
Public record & sign-ons Buffers & phase-out Filtration & enforcement
Young volunteers restoring a forest creek Hands-on + civil

Ecosystem continuity

Where full removal isn't possible yet — so we let the living system keep moving.

Cases
Dams blocking fish Highways cutting habitat Culverts & fences Drainage channels
Path to Green
Fish ladders & side channels Wildlife crossings Habitat corridors

Stop harm where possible. Reduce it where stopping is blocked. Create life-passages where removal isn't possible yet. Build the public record until the better practice becomes durable.

We the people

40 voices become 820 pages of evidence

When hands-on fixes aren't enough, GREENIFI turns scattered concern into one citable public record. Write your own statement or use a template, sign it, and stand on every notice filed before you — each new statement compounds the ones that came first.

Instead of 40 scattered comments, officials receive one organized record of concern, evidence, proposed solutions, offers of help, and requested action — the kind of documentation nonprofits like the NRDC can actually use.

Collective record

Stand together

Show that many people share one concern and one solution. We the people, as the bedrock — a consolidated record of those willing to act.

The bright side

SOULutions — proof it works, and feels good

A living feed of green wins, big and small — the uplifting, social heart of GREENIFI. Real people sharing what worked in their yard, their block, their watershed. Each one rated by how soulful the solution is. Optimism you can copy.

Verified volunteers can be supported

People who post photo & video proof of their stewardship earn a verified badge — and can link a tip jar so the community can say thanks. Giving back, never extracting.

Built to last

Designed for everyone, everywhere

A tool meant to hand power back can't be tied to one map, one tongue, or one type of person. GREENIFI was built to move — and to return more than it takes.

For Everyone

Anyone, any age, can take part. See a colour, pick a spot, snap a photo — that's the whole thing. No app to learn, nothing to figure out.

No manual, no jargon, no gatekeeping

Works anywhere

Our creek is just the demo. The same flow fits a canal in Dhaka or a roadside in Hawaiʻi — nothing's tied to one place, one country, or one language.

Travels with you

Built to grow

Ten people or ten thousand, it doesn't slow down. Anyone can read the record, but only you can ever change what you posted.

Under the hood →

Gives back

What you build belongs to your community, not to us. Every helping hand gets the credit — and some even get tipped for the work they do.

Yours, never harvested
Under the hood

What it's actually built on

Nothing exotic — just dependable, boring infrastructure chosen so the record stays fast, honest, and yours as it grows.

Frontend

React 18 + TypeScript

A typed component app bundled with Vite 6 — instant dev reloads and a small, fast production build.

Data

Supabase Postgres

Every case, seed, offer, and timeline event lives in Postgres — indexed per case, growing by adding spots, not weight.

Trust

Row-level security + Auth

Records are public to read, but writes need sign-in and ownership is enforced in the database — not just hidden in the UI.

Maps

Leaflet + OpenStreetMap

Open, license-free map tiles so any spot on Earth pins the same way — no proprietary map key, no per-region cost.

The record chain

From concern to a durable win

1

Name it & open it

Document a harm with a photo — and immediately propose a Seed, or ask experts to find one. A Red case is never just a complaint.

2

Gather solutions & help

Neighbors vote up the best Seeds, offer tools, time, mulch, and expertise, and — where needed — sign a public statement together.

3

Do it & make it durable

Run the workday or transition (Yellow), then return for follow-up proof. When the better practice holds, the spot turns Green.

harm documented → concern gathered → Seed solutions proposed → help offered → public statement generated → better practice performed → new record documented

The point isn't to complain forever.
It's to grow what works.

Choose a solution. Offer what you can bring. Test a better practice in one small area — and build a public record of the wins. Start with a single spot.
